Carolyn McClain, MD

Carolyn McClain, MD is an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor at Stanford University and a practicing primary care physician at Maison Medical Group. She graduated from Claremont McKenna College and earned her medical degree from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in 2004. She completed her Emergency Medicine residency at Hennepin County Medical Center in 2007 and a fellowship in Preventive Medicine in 2024.

After medical school, Dr. McClain moved to Minnesota, where she became a leader in both hospital-based and outpatient care. She spearheaded several statewide public health initiatives through the Minnesota Medical Association. A highlight of this work was producing the Emmy Award-winning documentary Honoring Choices, which emphasized the importance of thoughtful decision-making in end-of-life care. She was repeatedly recognized as a “Top Doctor” by Mpls.St.Paul Magazine, and in 2022, received the President’s Award from the Minnesota Medical Society for her significant contributions to public health in the state.

In 2022, Dr. McClain launched the concept of concierge emergency and urgent care medicine as the Regional Medical Director of Sollis Health, with centers in San Francisco and Palo Alto. In this role, she built strong partnerships with leading specialists and advanced diagnostic centers throughout the Bay Area. This experience inspired her to pursue further fellowship training in preventive and metabolic medicine, ensuring her patients receive the most current, personalized care.

In 2024, she joined Maison Medical Group, a boutique practice dedicated to providing seamless, evidence-based, highly personalized care to a select group of patients. With over 20 years of experience, Dr. McClain is passionate about using her expertise to help extend her patients’ healthspan and optimize their quality of life.
